Grants Farm

We decided to go to Grants Farm today. I was pretty excited because I haven't been since I was a little kid. Reagan had all kinds of questions and really wanted to know if Grant, "the farmer" would be there so we could meet him. I said no so she decided that he lived at a different farm with other animals. We went with Nikki and Lucas and it was quite the experience...

Here we are on the way out to fun part. We were both pretty surprised by how quiet and happy the boys were on the ride out.

Right as you get off the tram, you are at the goat pen. We bought bottles of milk to feed them and thought it would be fun! After Reagan got trapped inside the turnstyle thingie to get into the pen by a swarm of goats, I should've turned back. The goats were on their hind legs and on her. There was no attendant and I was holding Corbin so to save my first born, I hoisted her by one arm over the herd of goats to a quiet corner of the pen. This really didn't help, they followed. Nikki got a picture of my trying to quelch her fears of the goats.

Her hair is covering her face but traumatized might be the best way to describe my poor girl. These goats were agressive! We ended up finally getting out of there but even the tiniest little baby goats were freaking her out after being trampled by packs of them.

See the scratch on her elbow? Wasn't there before the goat attack. To be fair, she didn't even notice it but I did!

Lucas and Corbin handled the goats just fine!

After that ordeal, I took Reagan straight to the carousel.

Then wee went to see the giant tortoises. They were RIGHT there. Reagan was spooked again and as I was telling her that they were in their fence and wouldn't come near her, one of them slowly made it's way the entire way across then pen, through the water to come straight up to us. Needless to say, we moved on. Corbin got VIP treatment and was pushed around by Reagan the whole time.

We found the camels which were the highlight for Reagan. She told me before we left the house that she wanted to feed the camels.

Because as we all know, a gigantic smelly animal with huge teeth that spits is way less scary than some baby goats.

After this we went to see the elephant, who turned around with his back half facing us and proceeded to do his business. Reagan was mesmerized and told him what a "big poop" he had. At this point, we decided it was getting close to nap and that we had seen enough.

On our way back to the car, hot and very tired! It was definitely an eventful trip but still well worth going and overall a fun way to spend a summer morning!
