We got home from the 4th long enough to repack and head out on vacation to Tennessee with Luke's family. I am quite amazed at Luke's packing skills. How he fit everything we needed for a week in a cabin into our car is beyond me!
Here is proof that we were in the middle of nowhere. A great place to be when you're on vacation!
So this is kind of hard to read but this is from the guest book in the cabin. The people that stayed before us described the very interesting and eclectic decorations as "midwestern." As we are all born and raised proud midwesterners ourselves, we disagreed. However, I took a few pictures of the cabin so that we could gather other opinions.....Enjoy!
These are only a taste of the motif of the cabin. (FYI: that white stuff on the cane is a snake vertebrae...) It was neat though to find all of the details. We could've done a scavenger hunt to count all of the horseshoes (all of the cabinet handles of course!) and antlers (every lamp and light were made from these!) although Luke's favorite was the serving bowl with handles in the shape of shotguns. Where do they find this stuff?!? While it was interesting to say the least, the cabin was perfect for a big family with lots of room and great play area for the kids. The view from the 2 decks was superb! Perfect for a morning mimosa. Don't you agree?
Beautiful view!! I have to agree that i don't know any real midwesterners with that motif :)
