We say this A LOT but we really love our Hawkeye! He is the most patient and lovable dog we've ever met. Yes, he's got his less than desirable traits- drool, acne, snoring, drool and more drool. But that is so worth his cuddly personality and easy going demeanor. While he's not the type to greet you at the door- he's still asleep until you shake him half the time- he makes sure you know how much he loves you.
He has REALLY started to slow down more. But he still gets his energy spurts where he wants to play for a few minutes.
More importantly, he loves the kids. He likes to know where they are and doesn't mind at all when Corbin is climbing on him or when Reagan is trying to paint his nails. He may eventually get up and move but really he likes to be where the kids are and is not himself if they're gone. If they go to Grandma's or Oma's for the weekend, we can expect a lot of whining. (Trust me, his whining is not pretty!) He truly is a great, great dog!
It's a hard life but he manages.
