We picked up the bed and intended to have it set up in Reagan's room as surprise when she got home from a fun weekend in Normal. It need more painting than we thought so it wasn't quite finished by the time she got home but she was thrilled nonetheless. Putting it together took some teamwork but we did it!
I was so surprised- and very excited!- about how study and solid this bed is. Nothing is going to take this thing down.
All set up!
You can see the lights up under the "roof". There are three touch sensors on the bed so that she can read up there and turn them off without climbing down. It is also wired so that she could plug in an alarm clock up there on a built in cubby shelf.
The best full pic I could get. (It's big!)
Climbing up and down. The doorbell looking thing is another touch sensor for us to turn her lights off from below without having to climb in there.
One happy, lucky girl!
Mr. Corbin then in turn, got Reagan's old bed. He likes his big bed a lot even though he needs a stool to get in it still. ;)
Setting it up. First it was a garage underneath for all of his big trucks along with his favorite place to hide from us when it was time for naps. Now it holds his train tracks on boards so we can pull them in and out without taking the tracks apart each time. Which also means no room for him to hide!
Corbin has always taken several items to sleep with each night. Random things but they comfort him and he may play for a couple minutes but then he falls asleep after he's tucked all of his toys in under his blankets. Lately he's even begun reading them stories before he falls asleep. So each night when we check on him for the last time we empty out his bed so he can sleep peacefully instead of rolling over onto his toys. A bigger bed means way more room to hold his stash. This was one night's clean out. ;)

That is one FANTASTIC bed!!
