The week before school started, Luke and I made a bittersweet decision and returned Trapper to the humane society. We tried extremely hard to train him while I was home all summer and in a way it backfired. He became very attached to the point of extreme separation anxiety resulting in constant accidents that he then rolled in each time, destruction and barking. If he was with us and allowed to sit at our feet, he was calm as can be and a great dog. The final straw was when he jumped and scratched Reagan on the mouth. We knew getting a rescue dog was a risk and while Luke says he isn't necessarily scared off by this experience, if I'm being honest, I definitely am. I'm hopeful that the shelter is able to find him a home where he can be happy. Unfortunately it was just not with us.
