Over Spring Break, Luke took a day off for a family day and we packed up and headed off to the zoo. We're members and go quite often in the summer so we only stayed for a couple of hours and saw our favorite spots. The weather was amazing and the zoo was the busiest it has ever been! Luckily we were on our way out when the big crowd hit.
All ready to go. This was Corbin's first visit and he was pretty excited! Notice a familiar face? Stella made a comeback...not going to lie. I got crafty and had her join us instead of her latest favorite because I knew I would miss it when she lost interest in her first attachment toy and I was right. She's growing up way too fast.
Petting a chinchilla. This was the first time she really touched any of the animals other than the goats. I was proud of her for being so brave!
On the other hand. This year she seems to kinda get it now. These are animals and are big and are behind a giant wall for a reason. This is her worried face and we saw it a lot on this visit. This was in front of the gorillas where there was an ape right against the glass. She was not about to go any closer.
And this is why I got a double jogging stroller. No really, I do plan to use it to run this summer. Stop laughing, I'm serious. I think. Regardless, my whole point of getting a side by side was for the zoo so that both kids could see the animals. I think it would be such a waste if all Corbin was seeing was the back of the seat in front of him. I'm so glad that we did it. He was so enthralled by the hippos and the fish exhibits.
Looks like a fun trip!!
