No turning back...

Our baby girl is a big 3 years old now. She had a great actual birthday. We went and ordered princess cupcakes to take as a snack to school. She had a very clear idea of what she wanted and so she and the baker at Schnucks handled it and I wrote the check. They were very pink, sprinkled and had princess crown rings. Apparently the type of plastic ring that decorates the top of the cupcakes is very important in preschool these days.

Here she is hugging Corbin as a thank you for her birthday gift that he picked out for her. He got her a new diaper bag set for her dolls. 'Cause they need more of that stuff...really.

For her birthday we got Reagan a big girl bike. She picked it out and it doesn't get any pinker or girlier than this bike. She flies through the neighborhood on her tricycle but as soon as she got on this bike she tried to pedal backwards and got very frustrated. This is going to take some practice.
Here she is when she woke up on her birthday. Yes she's in a tinkerbelle dress over her jammies. Sigh. Anyhow, Luke leaves for work super early so he had left her a card and she held that card all the way to school because she loved it so much.

Luke was not happy that I took a picture of him putting the bike together the night before but Look, he's reading the directions!! ;) Typing this I realize we had started a pattern. For Reagan's 1st birthday, we got her a wagon and last year she got a power-wheels jeep. Now she has a bike. This trend of things with wheels needs to stop! She just loves to be on the go. After school, our friends came over for a small cookout to help celebrate her day. We had a nice lowkey night and Reagan got some great gifts. Our friends know her so well.

Today we're holding her first birthday party with friends at her favorite hang out- the pottery place. Wish us luck!! Afterwards, we'll drive up to Normal for her family party. Spoiled rotten is going to be her new name.

To explain the post title, last night as I was getting Reagan ready for bed she asked me if her birthday was over. I said that yes but it was such a great day. She agreed and then asked me if she was going to turn back into 2 while she slept. After giving her such a big hug, I said of course not. This morning she said "No more 2s for me! I'm never going to be 2 again!" After holding back tears we talked about how she'll stay 3 for a whole year and then she'll be 4. Her response was "Yep, then I'll get my own house and be a teacher." I told her I think that's a lot for a 4 year old to take on so she should keep living with us until she's old enough for college.
