Go Daddy Go!

Today Luke ran the Go St. Louis half marathon. He's been training for awhile and it paid off. He ran with our great friend Julie. They were awesome! We've been watching the weather forecast the whole week and were just thankful that the thunder and lightening held off. Reagan and I cheered on the side lines with Ray and tried to stay warm and dry. She was a great cheerleader and made plenty of runners smile with her "Rain Rain Go Away" renditions. She really only got upset when were able to meet Luke twice and he wouldn't stop running. She didn't quite understand that part. Despite the rain and wind, Luke finished all 13.1 miles strong and we are so proud of him!
So, then, in true Lucas fashion...he got hurt. After we finally got home after sitting in gridlocked traffic for way too long, Luke stubbed his toe on Hawkeye's tire. I checked it out and sent him off to Promptcare. Apparently running in rain and through city street puddles for 2 hours can soften up your toe nails pretty good. Sparing the gruesome details, his visit ended in a nice soak in Iodine, a good wrap job and a tetanus shot. All in all, a full day for everyone. Enough that Reagan took an almost 4 hour nap! Whoo Hoo!

Ready to run, way too early in the morning for me. I couldn't wait to find a Starbucks.

There they are! Halfway point!

Cheering on the runners. For those of you familiar with Backyardigans, you bet we sang Racing Day!

Way to go guys!

So proud of Daddy!
